Watercolor Journal
This workshop is a great opportunity to create an extraordinary handmade Journal to express your thoughts with prose, drawings, collages and paintings. We’ll start the day painting in the gardens at selected locations with watercolors. Construction of the journal will begin in the afternoon with beautiful decorative rice papers along with the paintings. Watercolor supply list available upon registration. Paper supply fee for book construction: $15.00

Drawing Basics-Nature Details
Mondays 6:15 to 9:15pm 10 weeks August 25 to November 10
Nurture yourself and develop your own creativity. Explore techniques to draw leaves, flowers, animals and other objects of nature in a relaxed atmosphere. Develop basic techniques and build skills needed to create with confidence and to draw illusions of depth and volume. This course will focus on sketching and painting basic nature forms with pencil, pen and ink and colored pencils.

Painting in Pastel
Fridays 1 to 4pm  11 weeks   August 29 to November 14
For all skill levels in pastel. Incorporates drawing and painting simultaneously. Explore techniques and gain drawing skills. Includes cross-hatching, broken color, blending and feathering. Landscapes, animals and botanical subject matter will be emphasized. Different papers and grounds are explored to determine which is best for your style of painting.

Watercolor Fundamentals
Mondays 9 am to 12pm   10 weeks   August 25 to November 10
For beginning and intermediate watercolorists. Learn different techniques including glazing, washes, wet into wet and dry brush. Subject matter will consist of plants, animals, landscapes and architecture. Create textures using salt, scraping tools, sandpaper, resists and sponging. Gain vocabulary skills necessary for color mixing. Classes consist of demonstrations, critiques and classroom painting sessions.

Expressions in Watercolor- Capturing Nature
Fridays 9am to 12pm   11 weeks   August 29 to November 14
For intermediate to advanced watercolorists. Capture the beauty of nature in watercolor. Focus will be on plants, landscape and water. Achieve luminosity in your paintings through demonstrations and experimentation. Exercises include mixing powerful color combinations, composition and light passages. Group demonstrations, critiques and individual guidance are stressed.
